How a Floor Scrubber Works

Every modern scrubber, disc or roller, does the same three things in a single pass — which is why one machine replaces a mop, a bucket, and the drying time.

Lay Down Solution

Water and detergent are metered onto the floor ahead of the brush head — either mixed in the fresh water tank or, on machines with automatic dosing, injected right in front of the brushes so the mix is always right.

Agitate the Dirt

Rotating brushes or pads work the solution into the floor. Brush speed and contact pressure together lift soil out of the surface rather than smearing it around, which is the part a mop cannot do.

Recover the Water

A trailing squeegee and vacuum turbine pull the dirty solution straight back off the floor into a separate recovery tank. The floor is left clean and dry enough to walk on immediately — no cones, no wait.

Cylindrical Roller Heads

Deep cleaning · heavy or coarse soil

Counter-rotating rollers run at higher speed and pressure, so they dig into textured and heavily soiled floors. They also sweep: coarse debris gets picked up into a dirt hopper as you scrub, which means no separate pre-sweep pass.

How a Floor Sweeper Works

A sweeper lifts dry debris with a roller brush and drops it into a hopper. There are two ways of getting it there, and they suit different messes.

Direct Throw

A cylindrical broom sweeps debris forward into a hopper mounted ahead of it. Lower brush speed and a short sweep path mean noticeably less airborne dust, and the brushes last longer.

Overthrow

A concealed roller spins fast and throws debris up and back into a trailing container. A coarse dirt flap lets it swallow bigger material, and the container fills right to the top before it needs emptying.

Should I buy a sweeper, a scrubber, or a combination machine?
